​LAGOS STATE WATERWORKS

In time past, many assumptions has been made that, it would be easy to provide the citizens of Lagos state with clean water because it's a state surrounded by water. But, the waters in the lagoon and ocean surrounding Lagos are not fit for human consumption. The large expanse of water around Lagos is not potable and does not meet World Health Organization standards.

According to the pledge Lagos State Government made to complete the remaining 7 out of 15 mini waterworks which it started before the end of the year. The projects will add 30 millions of water to the existing water to the existing stock daily. At the inauguration of the Ajegunle mini waterworks in Tolu/Ojoku, Ajeromi Awori Local Council Development Area, Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) pledged the commitment of his administration to completing the remaining waterworks.

Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola commended the contractors Messrs Seg Mahsen and Company, for executing the project satisfactorily and for using local materials and expertise, now the facility has the capacity to produce two million gallons of water per day and will complement an existing facility in the area that produces one million gallons of water per day.
